LIBRARY DAY 2016

MORNING PROGRAME - GRADE 1 - 7

The function began with the College Hymn at 9 a.m. 10th May 16

The Address by the Head Mistress Mrs.S.Sivapalan,was based on ‘Reading Maketh a Full Man.’ She talked about how reading can make a man wise. She also stressed that bookswere man’s best friend. Following her speech, Mr.P.Edward Kajan gave a speech on the ‘Importance of a library.” He spoke about, why library and books were important.

 

 

 

AFTERNOON PROGRAMME – Grade 8 – A/L

The afternoon programme began at 12:45p.m. in the Peto Memorial Hall. Following the College Hymn was a song in praise of the mother tongue – Tamil

Next was a speech by Mr.S.Roshan. He spoke about effective ways of studying what was taught in school

Next, “IrulilOli,” a publication by the teachers was released. Mr.A.M.Raviendran, Sectional Head of the Arts stream gave a review of the magazine.

The Chief Guest’s speech followed. He spoke about the importance of Education and reading books.

 

Speeches of Headmistress Mrs.S.Sivapalan And Mr.P.EdwardKajan

Following the two speeches was the distribution of prizes.

Next was the donation of books by the students. Students from Lower Primary, Upper Primaryand Middle School handed over the books to the librarian.Then the Vote Thanks was proposed by Mr. T.Atputharaj. The College Song brought the session to an end.

Chief Guest,Mr.T.Mathusuthan’s Speech

The Chief Guest,Mr.T.Mathusuthan who did his B.A. in Madras, M.A. in Kamaraj University and Diploma in Folklore distributed the Prizes to the students from grade 8 – A/L. Next was the Vote of Thanks by the Librarian. The College Song brought the function to an end.
